The Association's fourth bakery cooperative opened on April 6th in San Rafael to an hungry and excited community. The bakery, the fourth replication of the nationally acclaimed Cheese Board cooperative in Berkeley, received two enthusiastic previews in the Marin Independent journal, is getting buzz on Yelp, Chowhound, Tablehopper, and mention in the San Francisco Chronicle. Our favorite review so far is from blogger Megan Gordon, who sees both the delicious food and cooperative spirit of the bakery. Thanks, Megan!
The bakery is starting with 11 founding workers who are on track for cooperative ownership and is supported by trainers from all of the other Arizmendis. They are a great group of people and have all worked tremendously hard to get the business up and going. We're quite proud of all the care and work that have gone into the development of the new store, and look forward to it become an institution anchored in the community for years to come.
Check out the store's website, facebook, and twitter, and stop in to say hello.
