Martin West, the music director and principal conductor for the San Francisco Ballet, was asked about his favorite places in the Chronicle.  On the list:

Arizmendi Bakery, 1331 Ninth Ave. "They make great breads with grains and everything seems baked on premises. You buy a loaf of bread and they weigh it by the pound. They also have great pizza, designer pizza. It's part of the stroll for us, through the park and over to the bakery."
